If you were to be more spontaneous you will change your life dramatically. We think over 70,000 thoughts a day. If you do the same things every single day you will think the same thoughts. Science has proved this. However, if you do something different you will re-wire your brain and you will think new thoughts.
I am one of the most structured people I know. But I also know the rewards that come with spontaneous actions and here is how I practiced changing my life.
1. Change the way you look at things and the things you look at change. Science has also proven this. Try little things at first. Try driving a different way to work. Try visiting a store you've never been to. Take a break and walk in nature. Take a vacation. Just look around become aware of the surroundings. This brings me to the next point.
2. You become more present to the present. Anytime you become more aware of your surroundings you become more present. What sights do you see? What sounds do you hear? What smells do you sense? What feels do you feel? When you do this you start to think new thoughts.
3. You will spark creativity. When you change the way you look at thing and you become more present you spark creative thoughts. This is why Julia Cameron suggests Artist Dates in her book The Artist Way. Read my blog post Artist Dates Mean Increased Synchronicity.
Try something new today. Notice the sychronicities and the magic!! Until next time, Much love, Kathie
